Mortality in Stroke Patients
Pseudotumor cerebri (also known as idiopathic intracranial hypertension) is a poorly-understood condition in which the fluid inside the brain is often produced in excessive amounts. Is pseudotumor related to a lack of normal substances that serve to inhibit the production of the brain fluid?
Stroke in a region of the brain known as the insula has been linked to increased mortality. Some have theorized that this is because the insula affects cardiovascular function. It may, however, be a matter of the size of the stroke.
